A 12-year Texas Health Resources executive will become the new president of the nonprofit system's Harris Methodist Northwest hospital, the company announced Tuesday.
Brett McClung , a vice president at Harris Methodist Fort Worth hospital, will take the helm of the Azle facility Monday.
"I plan to build on the strong foundation, the strong history of service that this hospital has to the community," McClung said. "We're going to make it easier for our patients and our customers to access our services."
McClung joined Harris Methodist in 1993 and has held various posts -- most recently as Harris Methodist Fort Worth's vice president for ambulatory services, support services and business development. Previously, he worked as a consultant with Arthur Andersen Consulting.
McClung earned his bachelor's degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown and his master's in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
He replaces Larry Thompson, who retired last year.
Harris Methodist Northwest primarily serves northwest Tarrant County and Parker County.
The 51-year-old hospital, which has 36 beds, offers services that include cardiology, orthopedics, imaging and rehabilitation.
McClung said the hospital's next addition will be the creation of an endoscopy suite, where doctors will focus on gastroenterology.
